We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Sr. Payroll Analyst based in our Irvine, CA* office. The Sr. Payroll Analyst reports to the Payroll Supervisor and will be responsible for collecting, reviewing, and reporting on payroll-related information to ensure the accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and other deductions. They will assist in the printing and distribution of paychecks, process direct deposits, perform final pay calculations, conduct general auditing, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll.

This role requires an advanced conceptual understanding and knowledge of payroll processes and wage and hour laws, advanced organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and a high degree of competence in current technology. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication and customer service skills.

*This position is 100% in-office and will be based in Irvine, CA.

General Responsibilities:
  • Audits payroll information for accuracy. Validates that data from inbound integrations is received and fully processed. Verifies the calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and other deductions.
  • Processes full-cycle (multi-state) payroll on a bi-weekly and off-cycle basis.
  • Audits associate transactions such as new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Utilizes reports to identify payroll-related transactions and ensures they are accurately and timely reflected in the payroll system.
  • Calculates and processes final pay as required.
  • Ensures strict compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws, as well as company policies and standards.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge related to our payroll systems, integrations, and peripheral applications. Knows how to best utilize technology to improve processes, increase efficiency, and ensure accuracy.
  • Resolves difficult customer service-related issues and answers complex payroll-related questions.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all employee information and payroll records.
Work Schedule + Benefits:
  • Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
  • Pay Range: $39.75 - $45.00 per hour. This represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of prior experience in payroll processing
  • A payroll certification (CPP) or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
  • Advanced Excel skills – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of wage and hour laws
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and extremely accurate; can easily identify discrepancies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
