We have an excellent opportunity for a fulltime Quality Systems Supervisor based at our Chino, CA Warehouse and Processing Center.

 The Quality Systems Supervisor reports to the Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager of Supply Chain and is responsible for establishing and maintaining product quality standards, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the food safety of products supplied to In-N-Out Burger, which includes overseeing a team of QA Specialists and QA Technicians who perform quality assessment, audit suppliers, and analyze quality data to address trends. This individual performs routine audits of ingredient and packaging suppliers against In-N-Out Burger’s Food Safety and Quality policies, identifying deficiencies and requesting follow-up on corrective actions. They drive resolution of vendor non-conformances and influence supply base quality best practice improvements. This position will support the growth and development of In-N-Out Burgers Food Safety and Quality Program systems. This requires an understanding of our product lines, vendor relations, quality system and organizational structure to support cross-functional projects within In-N-Out Burger’s supply chain and managing product improvement projects for FSQA.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead activities related to product compliance including specification review/adherence, supplier relationship management, continuous product improvements, and product incident management. This includes review and maintenance of specification records to include product attributes, organoleptic characteristics, physical measures, and analytical measures.
  • Works with the QA field team to investigate and identify the root cause of quality issues in In-N-Out Warehouses and/or restaurants. Identify and respond to negative trends in product performance, developing an action plan and delivering against it to improve quality; and lead FSQA activities related to supplier corrective actions when product incidents occur. This also includes identifying new and innovative means to track and capture data analytics as related.
  • Personnel and leaderships responsibilities related to overseeing QA Specialists & Technicians.
  • Works with cross-functional partners to support new supplier onboarding and ongoing supplier management.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities as they relate to quality and consistency improvements of supplied ingredients.

Work Schedule + Benefits:

  • Full-time, Exempt 
  • Pay Range $105,000 - $135,000 
  • Eligible for a 10% Quarterly Bonus

  • Office Location: Chino, CA
  • Days/Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM 
  • This job may require being available to work outside of scheduled days and times. Approximately 2-3 times a week to field after hour emergency calls. 
  • Travel- Approximately 20%-50%
  • Occasional Weekend and holiday availability required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field 
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in food safety quality assurance fields
  • Minimum 2 years’ food manufacturing/warehousing/transport audit experience
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Quality Management Systems, Food Safety, and local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers, internal leadership, and team members
  • Understanding of liquid product manufacturing. 
  • Strong statistical analysis skills
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification and strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures, and Food Safety Modernization Act is required. 
  • Able to manage multiple projects and manage time effectively with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer skills including MS Office suite of programs
  • Certifications:
    • Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventative Controls Qualified Individual
    • Current Good Manufacturing Program (cGMPs) or equivalent experience
    • SQF/BRC/ISO Internal Auditor or equivalent experience

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. 
  • Occasional cold working conditions - Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in temperatures as low as 34 degrees Fahrenheit; Temperature fluctuations in the warehouse.
  • Occasional hot, wet and humid working environments.
  • Physical demands - Position requires frequent lifting, standing, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
  • Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings.
