In-N-Out Burger is looking for a Liability Claims Administrator This role will be located in *Irvine, CA and reports directly to the Senior Claims Manager, and is responsible for independently managing and adjusting a wide range of general liability claims, including customer injury, property damage, and product liability matters. This role requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, as well as strong negotiation, organization, customer-orientation and project management skills. Five (5) years of general liability claims administration experience is required.
 
*This role is based full time in office
 
General Responsibilities
 
  • General Liability Claim Administration, seeing claims through from intake to resolution.  
  • Speaking with Customers or their representatives by phone, email or other correspondence means to initiate the general liability process, ensuring that claim files are appropriately opened and stored in accordance with filing procedures. 
  • Collecting relevant documentation to assess the validity of claims, claim investigation, and timely communication with the Customer or representative; and effectively and reasonably resolving general liability claims in a timely manner.
  • Follow-up on claims of property damage caused by third parties (i.e. Customers, vendors) to investigate, subrogate, and invoice Customers or their appropriate representatives.
  • Assists with other claims-related support, investigations, regulatory matters, subpoenas, discovery, invoicing, and settlement distribution.

  • Onsite, in office hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs will call for occasional overtime

  • Salary Pay Range: $107,400-$134,000 per year
  • Represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Risk Management, Business Administration or similar. 
  • 5-8+ years of claims adjusting experience in multiple jurisdictions, with emphasis on California
  • Knowledge of Origami Risk Management Insurance System (RMIS)
  • 5+ Years Customer Service experience
  • 5+ Years General Liability Claims Analysist / Examiner experience
  • Knowledge contract/indemnity and insurance issues, as well as medical and legal terminology 
  • Prior experience with self-administered employer preferred plan
  • Strong computer skills with general understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, and other Risk Management Information Systems or legal document management systems 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Understanding of service environment of In-N-Out Burger 
  • Ability to take responsibility and exercise good judgment consistent with In-N-Out Burger’s high ethical standards 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish working relationships with colleagues 
  • Excellent time-management skills, ability to manage a high-volume case load and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills with robust attention to detail 
  • Strong professional, trustworthy, and reliable

Work Location Details
 
In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company’s western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948.
 
Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029.
