In-N-Out Burger has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Legal Operations Project Manager with our Legal team, based in our Irvine, CA* location.  This individual will report to the Deputy General Counsel and is responsible for the planning, monitoring and controlling; and closing of projects that involve the Legal Department.   

*This position is full-time, in-office only

General Responsibilities
  • Manage high-priority and high-impact internal projects and external development projects by communicating with vendors and their Project Managers, ensuring our internal team’s ability to execute the project, and understanding/creating all documents necessary for external work (NDA, SOW, RFI, RFP, Change Orders, etc.)
  • Plan and organize projects that have moderate business value from start to completion, including coordinating the needs of multiple customers and many stakeholders
  • Responsible for managing tasks and communicating effectively to all members of the project until it reaches the support phase
  • Understand and drive project timelines, resources, and scope from project kick-off
  • Work closely with the Legal Team to identify issues they will need to account for or areas in which they will need to lend their support
  • Communicate any issues, roadblocks, or scope creep to necessary parties
  • Responsible for coordinating/leading meetings, updating the project’s progress using various mediums (email, Slack, Asana, Jira, M365, etc.), and prioritizing work based on the customer’s needs
  • Help develop rollout materials and design presentations for update meetings/training with the Legal Team and customers
  • Maintain internal labor budgets while working closely with vendors to monitor monetary budgets and provide recommendations to help increase efficiency and eliminate waste
  • Help identify and assess potential risks and issues within the program, developing and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Maintain document retention guidelines, legal hold database, and related systems (i.e. e-discovery administration, managing legal holds; and document collections and review)
  • Assist with E-filing in state and federal court; and docketing
  • Provide hands-on support in litigation technology toolsets for a variety of requests, including: case creation; field and coding layout creation; creation and support of document review and production workflows; privilege log design and management; complaint data and exhibit management
  • Coordinate (or perform if necessary) in-house data management activities such as data processing, loading into database applications, imaging and building production subsets
  • Assist with the management of external service providers and any required problem-solving or troubleshooting 
  • Help identify opportunities for improved use of technology or process to gain efficiencies and meet best practices

  • Full-time position, Non-Exempt 
  • Pay Range is $37.00 - $42.00 per hour 
    The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors. 
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs may call for occasional overtime

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years’ minimum experience in Project Management; required  
  • Associate of Arts; required  
  • Basic legal knowledge required 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Ability to understand items of some technical complexity and communicate details with developers, technical leads, Legal Team, and customers
  • General knowledge of industry-standard data processing specifications, exception handling, and other data assessment techniques; required 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and other project management tools (i.e. Jira, Asana, etc.); required 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365; required 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency 
  • Proven history of providing outstanding customer service while proactively troubleshooting/problem-solving
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while remaining organized and efficient 
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and highly adaptable to constant change based on business objectives
  • Strong moral compass: ability to operate with integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information
