We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic (Experienced level) currently based in our Chino, CA facility. The Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on all In-N-Out Burger equipment, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and reliability across the fleet.
General Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on company vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, lift gates, reefer units, and generators, ensuring strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire checks, fluid checks, filter replacements, and other essential preventive measures to maintain the fleet’s optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing minor components such as lights, mudflaps, mirrors, air lines, batteries, belts, and various cab components.
- Effectively diagnose and repair medium and major components, including powertrain systems, suspension systems, wheel-end components, and engine systems, ensuring efficient vehicle performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex systems such as aftertreatment, HVAC, hydraulic systems, and reefer units, ensuring that all systems operate reliably and efficiently.
- Conduct thorough post-repair safety checks to ensure that all repaired vehicles meet the required safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately maintain records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, parts usage, and services performed in electronic databases or maintenance software, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Keep up with the latest technological advancements and industry trends, actively sharing knowledge with associates to enhance skills and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with supervisors and associates to ensure the timely availability of parts and tools, ensuring uninterrupted maintenance and repair operations.
- Work effectively with other associates to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical or electrical issues, providing expertise and working collaboratively to achieve optimal results.
- Guide and mentor less experienced associates, providing leadership and support for their professional development and technical proficiency.
- Respond to roadside calls and replace tires, providing tire repair services and minor repairs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner to minimize operational downtime.
- Procure necessary parts and tools for repairs through established processes, ensuring purchases are in compliance with IN-N-Out procedures and accounting practices.
- Maintain precise records of parts usage, ensuring inventory levels are monitored and managed accurately to avoid delays or shortages that could affect repair timelines.

- The hours for this position: Sun-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm
- Overtime and holiday availability required.

- Pay Range is $32.25 - $36.50 per hour
The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
Qualifications
- 50-pound lifting requirement.
- Valid Class C driver's license is required.
- Valid Class A is Highly preferred
- 609 and 608 certified is highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of heavy automotive diesel mechanic experience is required
- Experience with replacing A/C parts (i.e. compressor, filter/dryer, expansion valve, etc.)
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and truck after-treatment systems is required
- Able to perform minor lift gate repairs
- Completion of an accredited vocational diesel automotive school certificate is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and proven track record of dependability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to achieve company cleanliness standards.
