The In-N-Out Burger Community Engagement team has an excellent opportunity for an Executive Director/Foundation Manager for the HIS EYES Foundation, located in the Irvine, CA office*. We are seeking a Non-Profit leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to bring our third and newest Foundation to life. Once established, the Foundation Manager will be responsible for managing a team and overseeing the strategic plan, programs, grant process and administration of the HIS EYES Foundation.   

HIS EYES Foundation is a brand new foundation, that will be newly launched in 2025, to provide a home and community for people experiencing homelessness in our In-N-Out Burger markets.  This includes being an advocate for the unhoused while establishing relationships in the community, with donors, and in the In-N-Out Burger family. 

This position will be a member of the Community Engagement Department, which includes the In-N-Out Burger Foundation, Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, Fundraising, Community Giving, Volunteer and Impact teams. The Executive Director will report directly to the Community Engagement Department Head, as well as work closely with the President of In-N-Out Burger. 

*This role is based full time in-office with travel requirements. 

 

General Responsibilities 
  • Create, launch, and run the HIS EYES Foundation in close collaboration with In-N-Out Burger’s Leadership team 
  • Assist Founders to build and set the direction for the HIS EYES Foundation 
  • Lead the development of a business plan, create budgets, create an organizational structure, and build out team 
  • Actively participate within the homeless communities – interact with business leaders, develop key relationships and partnerships 
  • Establish HIS EYES Foundation’s visibility, and, ultimately, execute strategic vision and objectives 
  • Hire the HIS EYES team, to include hiring for a Program Officer and a Coordinator; additional roles and corresponding responsibilities still to be determined 
  • Ensure the new team is in alignment with the mission of the HIS EYES foundation 
  • Oversee the HIS EYES Foundation and its grant distribution, strategic planning, site visits, communication and marketing, speaking engagements and special events 
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction to achieve the organization’s mission and goals 
  • Develop and positively contribute to each team member’s growth and performance at a level that adds value and enhances their development and contributions  
  • Develop short- and long-term strategies that advance the foundation’s mission and actively participate in vetting organizations for grants, including in-person site visits 
  • Effectively communicate status updates as well collaborating on vision with the Founders of HIS EYES 
  • Partner with Fundraising Manager to develop fundraising strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the foundation’s vision and mission, sustain the foundation’s financial health and well-being, and explore new ideas and opportunities for long-range planning and growth 
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on strategic planning, goals, priorities, fund distribution and the foundation’s performance 

Work Schedule + Benefits 
  • Full-time position, Exempt 
  • Salary Pay Range: $115,014 - $150,000 annual
    The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors. 
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm 
  • Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends 
  • On-site presence required at community engagement events and fundraisers 
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 15-20% of the work time will be spent in the field

Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in non-profit, business, social work, or similar field 
  • Master’s degree in social service or related field is preferred 
  • A heart for caring for and working with people experiencing homelessness  
  • 5+ years experience working with people experiencing homelessness, issues surrounding homelessness, or working in homeless services 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience building out a team 
  • 10+ years Foundation/Nonprofit/Community relations experience  
  • 5+ or more years in a Leadership role 
  • 5+ years Grant making, Grant management, or related experience 
  • Demonstrates servant leadership  
  • Excellent public speaking skills; strong verbal and written communication 
  • Skilled leader; Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and collaborate with others on the team 
  • Ability to effectively communicate the foundation mission to associates, donors, volunteers and the community 
  • Active fundraising and financial management skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills

ABOUT In-N-Out Burger’s Foundations 

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation was established in 1995 with the goal of raising funds to assist abused and neglected children in the communities where we live and do business. 

In 2016, the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation was established to educate and assist in solutions to eliminate human trafficking as well as focus on those needing treatment, rehabilitation and prevention from drug/alcohol abuse. Our Fundraising and Charitable Events Teams supports both foundations with small and large scaled fundraising events as well as collaborating with Community Impact on service projects for our In-N-Out Burger Associates and their families.
