Come join our family at In-N-Out Burger! The Community Engagement and Fundraising team has an excellent opportunity for a Development & Fundraising Manager based at our Irvine, CA* office.

The Development & Fundraising Manager plays a pivotal role in leading donor development and fundraising efforts for the In-N-Out Burger and Slave 2 Nothing Foundations. Reporting to the Community Engagement Department Head, this position oversees the team responsible for managing donation activities and crafting both short- and long-term fundraising strategies that align with the foundations' vision and mission.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role, requiring close partnerships across multiple functions within the organization. By fostering a deep understanding of donor behavior, both internally and externally, this role ensures the foundations’ goals are met. Strategic partnerships with both foundations will be key to driving success, increasing awareness of our causes, and securing critical funding to support our mission.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at expanding and diversifying the donor base. Focus on increasing support from individual donors (customers, community members, and major gifts) and institutional partners (vendors and corporate donors).
  • Identify new donor opportunities through thorough research and cultivate relationships by soliciting funding in innovative and creative ways.
  • Provide clear leadership, direction, and oversight to the fundraising team. Mentor and support team members in their professional growth, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Partner with INOBF and S2N Foundation Managers to establish immediate and long-term fundraising goals that align with the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Oversee the management of donor records with a focus on leveraging tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud to design and execute effective fundraising campaigns.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships within the organization and externally with vendors, nonprofit organizations, foundations, and community partners, serving as a representative of the Foundations and Community Engagement Department.
  • Develop, implement, and manage company-wide giving opportunities that engage employees, corporate partners, and the broader community.
  • Represent In-N-Out Burger at fundraising events, speaking engagements, and in meetings with businesses, nonprofits, foundations, grant-makers, and community leaders, ensuring a professional and impactful presence.

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Salary Range: $105,000 - $128,000
  • The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors. This role is also eligible to participate in the company bonus program. 
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8AM - 5 PM 
  • Department needs may call for occasional evenings and weekends as needed for fundraising events. 
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 10-20% of the work time will be spent in the field.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fundraising, Communications, Administration, or a related field required. A Master’s degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven success in corporate giving, corporate fundraising, or corporate partnership development, with a focus on cultivating and maintaining donor relationships.
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role, with demonstrated ability to develop and mentor fundraising teams.
  • Experience building and executing strategic fundraising plans to diversify and expand donor bases across individual and institutional channels.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate giving strategies, including developing and managing company-wide giving opportunities and corporate donor programs.
  • Proven ability to identify new donors, conduct research on fundraising opportunities, and solicit funding through innovative approaches.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to engage corporate and community audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking and relationship-building skills to develop effective partnerships within and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and oversee donor database management, including building and managing campaigns through tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in time management, analytics, and decision-making.
  • Advanced experience with fundraising, CSR, donor database, and payment processing systems, including Salesforce.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools like Asana.

ABOUT the Community Engagement Department
The In-N-Out Burger Foundation was established in 1995 with the goal of raising funds to assist abused and neglected children in the communities where we live and do business.  

In 2016, the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation was established to educate and assist in solutions to eliminate human trafficking as well as focus on those needing treatment, rehabilitation and prevention from drug/alcohol abuse. Our Fundraising Team supports both foundations with small and large scaled fundraising efforts as well as collaborating with Community Impact on volunteer opportunities for our In-N-Out Burger Associates and their families.
