The In-N-Out Burger Information Technology team has an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer I, located in the Irvine, CA office*.  

As a Systems Engineer I, you will be a key member of our IT infrastructure team, transitioning from a foundational Systems Administrator role to a more specialized position in systems engineering. You will support the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of the company's IT systems, with a focus on developing your engineering skills and taking on more complex responsibilities within the team.

*This role is based full time in office

General Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of virtualization technologies and support the implementation of small-scale systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Provide second-level support for escalated issues from Systems Administrators, focusing on advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Manage and optimize Windows-based virtual machines (VMs) across 400+ retail locations, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Systems Administrators, providing guidance and technical support for escalated issues, and serving as a resource for more complex troubleshooting and system management tasks.
  • Support the corporate Active Directory (AD) environment, including user account management, group policy management, and advanced troubleshooting beyond basic administration.
  • Assist in the administration of hybrid Exchange environments, including both on-premises and Microsoft 365 components.
  • Participate in the patching and updating of Windows servers and client systems, ensuring security and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to further enhance your systems engineering expertise.
Work Schedule and Benefits
  • Full-time position, Exempt
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs will call for occasional overtime

  • Salary Pay Range: $89,325 - $100,300
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role, with a strong foundation in Windows Server environments, virtualization, and networking fundamentals.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory and Windows operating systems, with some experience in more advanced system management tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle moderately complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
