The In-N-Out Burger Risk Management team has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Certified Safety Specialist at the Chino, CA warehouse. The Sr. Certified Safety Specialist will report to the Risk Manager, and is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions, specifically at the non-restaurant properties of In-N-Out Burger, such as the In-N-Out warehouses, distribution facilities, food plants, maintenance depots, and corporate offices.  

General Responsibilities
  • Make worksite assessments to determine risks, assess potential hazards and controls, evaluate risks and hazard control measures
  • Investigate incidents, maintain and evaluate incident and loss records, and prepare emergency response plans
  • Must have a Certified Safety Professional via the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (; and/or have passed the Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) examination
  • Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards
  • Train associates on safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations; ensure necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
  • Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures
  • Function as the emergency operations planning and facilities coordinator for all non-restaurant properties
  • Develop, implement and monitor safety programs for the warehouse facilities that meet regulatory requirements; Establish documents, communicates standards, guidelines and procedures, including creating educational and training materials as needed
  • Coordinate and Conduct routine safety observations of facilities; ensure equipment and infrastructure are in compliance with standards and regulations. Document results, recommend corrective action, and follow-up until deficiencies are corrected
  • Maintains current knowledge of existing safety and health regulations

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Office/Warehouse location: Chino, CA
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm; Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 25 to 50% of the work time will be spent in the field 
  • Travel required to INO’s warehouse facilities and offices in CA, including: Baldwin Park, Irvine, Chino, and Lathrop
  • Out of state travel to: Colorado Springs, CO; Lancaster/Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; and Las Vegas, NV, as well as future In-N-Out Burger facilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, industrial engineering, occupational safety and health, or other closely related field 
  • 7-10+ years of Safety experience, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting 
  • Must be a Certified Safety Professional via the Board of Certified Safety Professionals ( 
  • Must have passed the Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) examination
  • Project Management experience 
  • Technical expertise in Health & Safety rules and regulations
  • Capable of working independently in the field; ability to work autonomously/independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment
  • Strong field experience and ability to travel to other sites
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while remaining organized, detailed, and flexible 
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and computer applications
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Ability to maintain strict confidence
