The In-N-Out Burger Human Resources team has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Associate (Internal) Communications Partner based in our Irvine, CA office. As a Talent and Organizational Development team member, the Sr. Associate Communications Partner supports the overall Associate communication strategy and approach. Under the supervision and direction of the Talent & Organizational Development Department Manager, this individual is focused on developing and distributing organizational information and communication to all Associates. This encompasses subjects such as organization mission/purpose, strategy, policies, and performance; Company-wide and function-specific programs, processes, and tools; Associate compensation/benefits and other HR programs and policies; new systems or policy changes; Company or Foundation events; and other people programs and information.  

Job responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Talent & OD Department Manager in executing an internal communications and engagement strategy aligned with our organizational goals.
  • Creating end-to-end communication plans with Operations and Support leaders and stakeholders for internal announcements, change management projects, technology changes, and relevant news and events. 
  • Leveraging and maintaining communication tools, processes, and channels (Associate intranet, INO Times, Slack, etc.)
  • Developing communication pieces in collaboration with Department and Operational stakeholders.
  • Managing the review and approval process for distributing communication pieces.
  • Reviewing and editing function-specific documents drafted by subject matter experts to ensure they are written appropriately for the targeted audience and are consistent with organizational style guidelines. 
  • Providing metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication plans and inform future communication strategies.
  • Ensuring our Supervisors and Store Management are equipped to deliver company messaging and communications to their Associates by developing and maintaining communication tools & resources.
  • Coordinating small cross-functional project teams (Marketing, stakeholders, SMEs) to execute communication plans.
  • Maintaining a centralized communication calendar. 
  • Coordinating with partners across Operations and Support Departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding. 

Work Schedule and Benefits
  • Full-time position, Exempt
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs will call for occasional overtime

  • Salary Pay Range $113,000 - $140,000 
  • The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors in determining your pay. 

Required Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years operations/corporate communications experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a relevant field
  • Strong written communication skills, including editing and copywriting.
  • Ability to translate complicated concepts into clear, compelling language for audiences ranging from key stakeholders to associates.
  • Strong press skills to effectively develop a pitch strategy and execute it independently.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to set priorities and deliver on deadlines.
  • Strong research and coverage analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective communication content requiring minimal editing and rework.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical understanding of communication channels and trends
  • Experience with photo and video-editing software
  • Experience with communication tools like email platforms, Slack, and company intranet(s).

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing content for diverse audiences.
  • The ability to simplify complex information into engaging content, effective storyteller.
  • Familiarity with presentation and graphic design software (PPT, Adobe, etc.)
