We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Site Utility Specialist based in our Baldwin Park, CA real estate construction office, in the New Construction department.  The Site Utility Specialist will work with internal in-N-Out Burger stakeholders and utility service providers and contractors, to coordinate site utilities for In-N-Out Burger restaurant and property locations.  This person reports to the Senior Manager of New Construction.  

The New Construction department is responsible for the building and development of In-N-Out Burger restaurants.  This team works closely with other real estate development and construction teams.

General Responsibilities
  • Work with internal In-N-Out (INO) stakeholders along with Architect/Engineer of Record, utility service providers, and contractors to facilitate the design and coordinate requisite site utilities from source to designated INO locations
  • Coordinate submission of applications to utility providers and follow up to secure work orders status with assigned utility companies
  • Complete studies for future projects to determine conflicts, relocations and approximate budget for utility service provider costs
  • Coordinate secure sign-off of designs by internal INO stakeholders and utility provider supervision
  • Proactively manage dry or wet utility abandonment, relocation, installation by contractors and utility provider, including but not limited to design coordination, preconstruction, daily tailgate meetings to ensure scope familiarity and accurate execution
  • Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables 
  • Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process. This expectation tracks from construction drawings development, design coordination, to commissioning and closeout
  • Desire to purse, or currently maintain, Professional Engineering/Construction Designations & Certifications

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt 
  • Pay Range is $110,000-$140,000
    The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Office location: Baldwin Park, CA
  • Travel: Approximately 80% of time will be spent in the field traveling and being on project sites in the states where In-N-Out Burger operates: CA, NV, AZ, TX, UT, OR and CO
  • Travel: This person will spend 80% of the time in the field, visiting all of the new construction sites

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, General or Construction Engineering 
  • 6 years of utility design-build construction project management experience 
  • 3 years' experience working directly for SoCal Edison, SoCal Gas, PG&E, SDG&E, LADWP, similar utility providers, or as a utility field manager with a infrastructure general contractor 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and other project-related technology such as Procore, Autocad 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and BlueBeam
  • Certifications: A plus, though not required, would be a valid DBIA, LEED, CCM, PMP
  • A plus, though not required, Proficiency in Microstation, Open Roads Design (ORD), BIM/Revit, Primavera 6, Smartsheet, and RS Means 
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
  • Ability to travel and attend company events -- This role may require, at times, company sponsored same day or overnight travel
  • CA driver’s license in good standing
