We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Night Sanitation Supervisor based in Lathrop, CA. The Night Sanitation Supervisor will report to the Sanitation Manager and is responsible for overseeing the sanitation of our Lathrop meat production facility and for ensuring that our standard sanitation operating procedures (SSOPs) are aligned with industry best practices and in compliance with regulations from OSHA, USDA, and other regulatory agencies. A successful candidate will have working knowledge of these regulations, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to think critically and problem-solve. This role oversees Sanitation Technicians to ensure they are performing their job duties safely and accordingly, requiring you to spend the majority of time on the floor to observe, monitor, and supervise throughout the course of a shift. In addition to guiding and developing team members, including talent planning and managing team performance.

General Responsibilities
  • Ensure SSOPs are in compliance with or exceeding standards outlined by OSHA, USDA, and other regulatory agencies. As appropriate, provide guidance and ideas to enhance sanitation practices.
  • Development and performance management of sanitation team. Must be able to administer trainings on subjects such as food safety, safety, equipment cleaning etc.
  • Provide insight and assist in strategic decision making for sanitation team
  • Ensure appropriate staffing level, reliability of staff, and quality of service 
  • Administrative tasks (e.g., checking emails, scheduling Associates to meet department needs, approving time off requests, performance management and documentation, checking inventory, etc.)
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Meat Department leaders and other departments across the Company to ensure safety and sanitation of equipment
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and maintain a safe working environment for all Associates. This requires being present on the floor to monitor, observe, and supervise. While on the floor, the Sanitation Supervisor is monitoring safety by making sure Associates are wearing the appropriate personal protective gear, using tools adequately, not leaving hoses on ground, using ladders correctly, not mixing chemicals, etc.
  • The Sanitation Supervisor will assist with all aspects of sanitation as necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Act as the Safety Captain to report any accidents 

Work Schedule + Benefits:
  • Full-time position, Hourly (non-exempt) 
  • Approx. Hours: 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.; some overtime as needed (start times may vary)
  • 5 days per week, rotating schedule 
  • Weekend and holiday availability required

  • Pay Range is $39.50-$52.50 per hour 
    The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors

  • 3-5 years minimum leadership experience working in a meat facility as a sanitation supervisor is preferred 
  • Ground beef patties plant experience preferred 
  • Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written) including e-mail, scheduling and calendar management 
  • HACCP certified a plus

Physical Demands/Requirements
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders and not be afraid of heights 
  • Ability to withstand varied environmental conditions, such as cold and heat, extreme wet, within closed surroundings 
  • Will work in cold, damp environments; will work in warm, damp environments 
  • Production rooms are warm when cleaning them: 70-80 degrees 
  • Occasional work assignments in temperatures as low as 34 degrees Fahrenheit 
  • Position requires frequent lifting, standing, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, bending, and kneeling
