We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Event Planner based in our Irvine, CA* office. This person will work on the Regional Events team and will report to the Lead Event Planner.  The Regional Event Planner is responsible for performing a wide variety of functions related to the implementation of company events for In-N-Out Burger associates.

*This position is full time, in-office only

General Responsibilities
  • Work on the Regional Events team, which plans internal employee events such as: Company picnics, sporting tournaments, holiday parties, store parties for restaurant associates, and other corporate events
  • Plan and execute all aspects of social and sporting events for In-N-Out Burger associates, such as researching locations, negotiating contracts, selecting and coordinating vendors 
  • Manage on-site event operations 
  • Supervise event recruiting, hiring, and managing of on-site staff, event assistants, and the operations team for each regional location 
  • Responsible for on-going communication with operations personnel regarding event date, location, and other logistics 
  • Create and manage the budget for each event; stay within budget parameters 
  • Proven negotiation skills and diplomacy with vendors to meet company objectives 
  • Manage a project from inception through completion 
  • Proven ability to negotiate, plan and successfully manage a variety of events 
  • Proven history of providing outstanding customer service while proactively troubleshooting/problem solving 
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while remaining organized, efficient and flexible 

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt 
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm 
  • Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel time: 10-15% of the work time will be spent in the field and will require overnight and weekend travel to the states where In-N-Out Burger operates
  • Duration of trips: Most trips are 3-4 days at a time, but some trips can last up to 1 week

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel management, marketing, business, public relations, or relevant field is preferred, but not required; Significant work experience can substitute for a degree
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an active event planner, with hands-on experience in all facets of corporate event planning
  • Experience planning festivals, community events, company or corporate picnics
  • Experience planning sporting tournaments, competitions, or sporting events a plus
  • Impressive portfolio of previously managed events, such as: Corporate events, weddings, large corporate meetings, company parties, sports competitions 
  • Certificate in Meeting & Event Management preferred, but not required
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills 
  • Exceptional on-site event operation skills 
  • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently 
  • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions with minimal oversight 
  • Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills; communication with all levels of management 
  • Ability to work autonomously/independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word and Excel. Online registration systems experience a plus 
  • Strong word processing and desktop publishing skills
