We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Event Planner IISpecial Events team based in our Irvine, CA* office. The Event Planner II will work on the Special Events team and will report to the Events Manager.  This person is responsible for performing a wide variety of functions related to the implementation of special company events for In-N-Out Burger. 

*This position is full-time, in-office only.

General Responsibilities
  • Work on the Special Events team, which plans large production, immersive, and extraordinary events for In-N-Out Burger 
  • The Special Events team will plan: INO milestone events, such as large Anniversary parties; corporate support Christmas parties; large, immersive themed events; the Anniversary dinner; and Kickoff awards dinner
  • Be an expert at Event Production, to include experience in event design, set design, venue selection, floor plans, and logistics
  • Elevate our events to the next level; Work with presenters, audio visual and tech crews, and event production teams to produce and deliver amazing, live experiences 
  • Manage the live, stage presentation of an event
  • Coordinate the full event production process - From Pre-production to set/space design and branding, coordinate AV and lighting, build a production schedule, to onsite event management and rehearsals 
  • Help with the fabrication of décor, such as creating large décor and scenic pieces
  • A/V experience with event lighting and graphics
  • Create a unique event experience that engages and uses technology and creativity to capture the audience
  • Experience in event design and venue transformation
  • Work with event production teams and vendors to produce and deliver an amazing experience at an event
  • Plan and execute all aspects of events, such as researching locations, negotiating contracts, selecting and coordinating vendors 
  • Help plan employee events and employee engagement events; Drive company culture; Focus on the employee experience 
  • Assist with on-going communication with operations personnel regarding event date, location, and other logistics 
  • Create and manage communications for event attendees
  • Help with onsite and “day-of-event” activities and operations 
  • Assist and support the Travel & Events Department as necessary 

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt 
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm 
  • Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 20% of the work time will be spent in the field and at the venues where we are planning the event

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel management, marketing, business, public relations, or relevant field is preferred, but not required; Significant work experience can substitute for a degree
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Event Production, with experience planning large scale immersive events 
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a corporate event planner, or in corporate meeting production 
  • Ability to create immersive experiences
  • Ability to successfully manage production timelines
  • Strong understanding of all areas of event production, including a/v, lighting, staging, projection, etc. for live stage events 
  • Must be event tech and A/V savvy
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills 
  • Exceptional on-site event operation skills 
  • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to work independently 
  • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions with minimal oversight 
  • Excellent written, verbal and phone communication skills; communication with all levels of management 
  • Ability to work autonomously/independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word and Excel
  • Online registration, attendee registration, and project management systems experience a plus 

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events
