We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Corporate Counsel/Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property attorney with our Legal Department, based in our Irvine, CA* office.  This position will be responsible for handling and managing our intellectual property (IP) litigation matters and portfolio, while also contributing to our contract management and other legal operations initiatives. 

*This position is full-time, in-office only.  


General Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to develop and execute litigation strategies
  • Conduct legal research, draft cease and desist letters, pleadings, motions, and briefs, and provide strategic advice on IP disputes
  • Assist in managing the Company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets
  • Conduct IP audits, due diligence reviews, and assessments of third-party intellectual property
  • Develop and implement strategies for IP protection, enforcement, and monetization
  • Utilize project management skills and experience with legal operations to contribute to the development and optimization of legal processes and procedures
  • Assist in implementing technology solutions and tools to streamline legal workflows and improve efficiency
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, such as contract management, compliance, and risk management
  • Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues (including laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and legal articles); and provide clear recommendations to internal Associates

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time position, Exempt
  • Pay Range is $195,000-$250,000
    The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs may call for occasional overtime, including weekends at times 
  • Travel: This role involves occasional local and overnight travel (10-15%)

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience at a law firm or as an in-house counsel; required
  • Current license to practice law and ability to remain in good standing with the California State Bar Association; required 
  • Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-accredited law school; required  
  • Experience and working knowledge in the following fields of practice:  intellectual property and brand protection; trademark prosecution; civil litigation; contracts; privacy; licensing and other transactions
  • Experience managing intellectual property portfolios and conducting IP audits; and due diligence
  • Knowledge of legal operations principles and experience implementing process improvements
  • Overall broad legal knowledge of corporate laws, litigation, and intellectual property law; and proven general counseling experience in a business environment 
  • Ability to draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts in multiple areas of the business, including accounting, marketing, and information technology.   
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentation skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with Contract Management Software (i.e. DocuSign, Smartwaiver, etc.)  
  • Valid California Driver's License required
