We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Category Buyer I based in our Chino, CA warehouse*. The Category Buyer I reports to the Category Manager and assists in purchasing materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for In-N-Out Burger. Additional responsibilities include qualifying suppliers, evaluating bids, and negotiating prices/terms for purchased goods and services (for a specified procurement category).
*This position is full-time, in-office only.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a lead role in assigned buying category as a subject matter expert
- Monitor supplier quality and maintain a current database of supplier information
- Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and develop solutions according to company standards
- Responsible for the purchasing and supplier assurance activities
- Ideate and execute the contract award justification for new and existing direct spend items, with support from management
- Collaborate with the Food Safety Quality Assurance team to clearly define and maintain product specifications
- Maintain supplier chain of custody documentation
- Create and maintain supplier purchase requisitions
Work Schedule + Benefits
- Full-time position, Exempt
- Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
- Occasional travel for vendor visits, which may include nights & weekends (1-3 times/month)

- Pay Range is $65,000 - $76,500
The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Some college/Associate's degree preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Supply Chain Management or Inventory Control is strongly preferred
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an internal purchasing environment is required
- Basic knowledge of Oracle Fusion SCM modules and HighJump/Körber WMS platform is preferred
- Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven history of providing outstanding customer service while proactively troubleshooting and problem solving
- Ability to work autonomously/independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment
- Desire to learn constantly, and willingness to try new approaches to administration
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment, while exhibiting a positive and professional attitude
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while exercising discretion and good judgment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- For Store associates:
- Minimum one (1) year tenure with In-N-Out Burger
- Minimum Level 3, plus a minimum 1 year experience in an internal purchasing environment is required
- No Final Warnings in the last six (6) months and must be in good standing with Management
