We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Architectural Designer I based in our Baldwin Park, CA* Real Estate office. The Architectural Designer reports directly to the Architectural Design Manager and is responsible for all phases of design development for all restaurants and other support/building remodel projects.

*This position is full-time, in-office only.

General Responsibilities

Prepare detailed site plans, generally for new construction, reviewing site requirements for city code and location requirements while maintaining In-N-Out brand/image; and using AutoCAD to prepare architectural and design drawings for the purpose of construction design documentation
Prepare development design, conceptual drawings, floor plans and elevations through the use of AutoCAD and other advanced design software tools
Create solutions to a broad range of technical problems
Meet with team members and Real Estate to review design drawings for accuracy
Research building materials and furnishings based off of specific city or shopping center requirements
Process Vendor and Development Professional Invoices
Update and prepare evacuation plans for company buildings as needed
Prepare as-built drawings for remodels of existing stores and company support offices
Occasionally assist with Site Investigation Reports (SIR's) and entitlements

Work Schedule + Benefits

Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay Range is $36.90-$43.50 per hour
The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Office location: Baldwin Park, CA
Department needs may call for occasional overtime

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture; required
2-4 years' experience in Architectural Design (preferably with quick-service restaurants, restaurants, or retail); required
Experience designing quick-service restaurants (with drive-thru); preferred
In-depth knowledge of architecture and building design, state and local building codes; and ADA compliance is required
Basic knowledge of HVAC and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing); required
Intermediate-level proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop; required
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); required
Preferred: 1-2 years experience with the entitlement process; Must have a working understanding of governmental entitlement process
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Apply good judgment in decision-making
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and strong human relations skills
Creative problem-solving abilities and outstanding organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and good time management
Ability to maintain confidentiality
